Effusive eruptions are not violent eruptions. Lava pours out onto the ground from a vent and spreads out over the land. Lava in this kind of eruption will be different depending on where the eruption happens and what kind of minerals makes up the lava. The lava can be thick or thin and the flow can be wide or narrow. The slope of the ground also affects how fast the lava flows.
