In ancient Egypt , dogs ,cats, baboons ,frogs ,toads , gazelles ,fishes,
rams, pigeons, and monkeys were just some of the pets that ancient Egyptians had.
 

One type of dog in ancient Egypt was the Basenji. Its fur was white , red , and black with a wrinkled forehead. Their vocal cords weren't made for barking so they yodel instead. They are very smart as a matter of fact they are dogs of the pharaoh. They were sight hounds. The wolf was the closest relative of the Basenji. They are called Pharaoh Hounds. After they died and were mummified they were put at their owners feet.
