How To Make Candy by Ari
When
you think of candy most of the time
you think "ummm that's good" not "hum what's that made of"
This is for all the people that don't care what their candy taste like as long
as its candy. If you ask someone what their favorite candy is they would generally
say chocolate. We took a candy survey and that was the general result. Chocolate
is made from cocoa seeds, which can be found in Africa and South America. The
seed can only be harvested by hand because if the farmer were to use a machine
the seed could get damaged and so could the cluster of flowers on the tree or
the tree itself. Cocoa trees grow close to one so if a farmer took a chance
of using a machine he could not only just hurt one tree but you could harm a
bunch of trees. Cocoa seeds are found in pods that grow on the cocoa tree. The
seeds are more commonly known as cocoa beans. Average Americans eat 10 lbs of
chocolate a year.
Other candies that people like are gum. Gum is made up of five ingredients. They are, a gum base, sugar, softener, flavoring and color. Gum comes in many different flavors but the most popular ones are mint and original. Gum comes in many different colors such as white, pink, blue, green and yellow to name a few. Most of the time chewing gum has flavors that would freshen your breath such as mint, cinnamon, and peppermint. Some of the new chewing gums can whiten your teeth such as trident white.

Another type of candy is hard candy. Hard candy basically comes in many flavors and many brands. Hard candy is made with cold water so that it would almost freeze. Hard candy can be dangerous to little kids because they can break your teeth if you try to chew them. The only time you should chew them is if the center is filled. The center of a hard candy can sometimes be a soft center, a jelly center, a sweet center and a gum center. Candies like War Heads have a sweet center after having around 50 seconds of extreme sourness. Some people also have hard candies when they have a sore throat but most people like candy anyway.
A partner to hard candy is soft candy. Soft candy can be stick or chewy. Some
types of soft candies are jelly beans, laffy taffy and airheads. Most soft candies
have a fruit flavor, but jelly belly jellybeans have all kinds of flavors! Some
of the new ones are mango, plum, chocolate cake and buttered toast. Some of
the flavors in the "Harry Potter" edition are just plain disgusting,
some of the flavors in that are, vomit, concrete, dirt, sardines, and bugers
to name a few of the disgusting ones. Most soft candies but some are sour such
as shock tarts. These are a little like warheads they're sour than sweet. Most
candy falls into those four categories, gum, chocolate, hard and soft candy.

Only few people don't like candy or when you ask them and they say no, they're lying! Some people consider candy to be like ambrosia, the fruit of the gods, but most just think it tastes pretty good.
