Annemarie said, “ Lets see who can run the fastest!”

Ellen answered, “No, because you know that you are going to beat me.”

Finally Ellen said, “Yes” so they ran.

When they started to run little Kirsti yelled, “Wait for me!” ( Kirsti was Annemarie’s little sister). When they got to the corner of the street they were suddenly stopped by a German soldier.When they arrived at their apartments, they went different ways after they reached the second floor. When Annemarie walked into her apartment she saw her mother and Ellen’s mother talking to each other while drinking hot water and herbs. Her sister ran to their mother and started to tell the mothers what the German soldiers had done to her, Annemarie, and Ellen.
