Chapters 3-4
The Nazis have started rounding up the Jews and sending them to cocentration camps. Now Annemarie’s best friend Ellen,(who is Jewish) is in danger and is to stay with them. One night, a group of Nazis comes to the house and searches. Annemarie hurrily rips the Star of David from Ellen’s neck. This saved all their lives for if the Nazis caught her wearing the Star of David they would have certainly been caught.
