Hurricanes
Hurricanes are large rotating storms that are highly destructive. They form from a tropical storm. The storm is created when warm humid air evaporates up from warm seas. When the hot humid air hits the cool air above, clouds form. When the cooled air falls back to the ocean, it warms up again. This rotating air starts to turn due to the rotation of the earth. The air spins so fast, that the clouds are thrown out from the middle creating an “eye.” Winds inside the storm can reach speeds up to 200mph! While in the eye, there’s no wind at all!
