There are five main uses for television. They are:

Under the Entertainment category there is sports, movies, sitcoms, soap operas, cartoons, and reality TV.

Under the Information category there is news, weather, current events, election results, public service announcements, and government meetings.

Under the Education category there is the History channel, cooking shows, medical shows, home repair, and documentaries.

Under the Advertising category there are commercials, infomercials, and home shopping network.

Finally under the Religion category there are church recordings.
