She was born in 1911. She grew up in New York. Her acting career started in the movies. She also was a radio star. I Love Lucy aired from 1951-1957. It won 5 Emmys and more than 200 awards.

Her first husband was Desi Arnaz. They had 2 children. She and Desi divorced in 1960. Lucille Ball later married Gary Morton.

She died in 1989.

I Love Lucy was about a housewife and her Cuban husband, Ricky Ricardo (played by Desi), who was a bandleader. The show was the first to use three cameras filming at the same time. This was how reruns began. As a half hour sitcom, this show changed the way people watched comedy TV. Her co-stars, besides her husband, were William Frawley and Vivian Vance.
