| The thalamus is all of the senses
heat, cold, pain, sight, smell, etc...
The ventricle communicates with the spinal chord. The medulla is connected to the spinal chord and can make involuntary actions. The pituitary is a gland that creates hormones to send throughout the body. The five major regions of the brain are the cortex, limbic system, thalamus hypothalamus pituitary, the stem, and the cerebellum. The cortex is the outer layer of the brain. There are two hemispheres, the left and right. The right controls the left, and the left controls the right. Sight and smell go into the brain from the opposite side of the stem. The stem is where taste, hearing, and feeling/pain comes in and motor goes out. The stem is made up of the medulla, pons, and the meseucephalla. Lobes are little sections of the brain. The occipital lobe is for vision. The temporal lobe is for hearing, taste, and vision. The frontal lobe is for motor and prefrontal. The parietal lobe is for touch, and spatial location. The cerebellum is the coordination of muscles between the stem and cerebrum. |
