New way to look at sun eclipses was found . It was called 'camera obscure' - which means the dark room (this was a start for today's cameras)

First appearance of Halley's comet(it was named much later)

First rockets were invented by Chinese (more like fireworks!)

The first observatory in Europe was set by Pliny

Haley's comet appears again (still without name)

Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus writes a book "On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres" He writes the Earth and other planets revolve around the Sun (church really didn't like this)

Church really, really doesn't like this sun in the center stuff. Galileo goes to jail!

The comet to be known later as Haley's Comet appears.(no name)

Kepler proves that the orbit of Mars is an ellipse.

Newton experiments with gravity and sets forth a theory of universal gravitation.

The comet to be known later as Haley's Comet appears. (getting closer to be named)
