The Great Wall of China was built over 2,00 years ago by Qin Shi Huangdi which was the first emperor of China. In China the Great Wall is called "Wha-Li Qang- Qeng" which means 10,000 Li-Long wall. Armies were stationed along the wall as a first line of defense against the invading tribes from the north of China, their names are the Huns. Fires from the wall provided early warning of an attack of the tribes against them.

The Great Wall is one of the largest building projects ever completed. It goes across the mountains of northern China and is made of cement bricks, rocks and packed-earth. The Great Wall was 5,000 km long. China made 6,400 km long. It was enlarged in the 1368-1644. 4,000 miles where built on to the wall and was about a two hundred year project.

China has a lot of red pandas. The red panda is a smaller relative of the well known big panda. The red panda lives in the bamboo forests of the Himalayan mountains. Here, the weather is cool and moist with a mixture of deciduos and coniferous trees above, and bamboo and rhododendrons below. The red pandas eat mostly bamboo leaves. They also eat berries, mushrooms , grasses and bark. Red pandas do eat some meat like insects, bird eggs, bird nestlings and some times even some time they might even get a mouse or bamboo rat.
