The Great Wall of China was built over 2,00 years ago by Qin Shi Huangdi which was the first emperor of China. In China the Great Wall is called "Wha-Li Qang- Qeng" which means 10,000 Li-Long wall. Armies were stationed along the wall as a first line of defense against the invading tribes from the north of China, their names are the Huns. Fires from the wall provided early warning of an attack of the tribes against them.

The Great Wall was 5,000 km long. China made 6,400 km long. It was enlarged in the 1368-1644. 4,000 miles where built on to the wall and was about a two hundred year project.
