Interesting Facts
Africa is the second biggest continent. Mount Kilmanjaro, a mountain in Africa, is the worlds highest peak and a non-active volcano. It is close to the equator, but it is so high that it's covered with snow. The Nile River in Africa is the worlds longest river.
Africa is one of the most incredible places there is. The biggest mammals in the world live there. It is so unique that just one of it's islands, Madagascar, has over 150,000 plants and animals that can not be found anywhere else on earth. Nowhere else but Africa can you find ancient pyramids or even leftovers from the first people who walked the earth.
There are 55 countries in Africa. Africa is 20.3% of the planets surface and has 14% of the worlds population.
