Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States. He was born on October 27, 1858. President Roosevelt was an avid outdoors man and went on many adventures. On one of the these adventures to the Rainforest he helped discover the Route of a major River. It was on this adventure he also caught a tropical fever which eventually led to his death.

While on an adventure to the Amazon Region of Brazil President Roosevelt and his party discovered the route of a river then known as Rio do Du'vida. It was renamed Rio Roosevelt in honor of the man who helped discover its route. President Roosevelt died in his home in New York on January 6, 1919 from complication of the tropical fever he got while in the Amazon.
