Book summary: Stanley Yelnats, on a count for steeling the great baseball player, Clyde Livingston's shoes has a choice between prison or Camp Green Lake. He chooses Camp Green Lake. When he arrives, he finds that Camp Green Lake isn't all that fun. Actually, there isn't even a lake there. The boys that live at Camp Green Lake have to dig one 5 foot deep and 5 foot wide hole every day until they get out. Stanley finds out that they are not digging holes for discipline, but are in fact looking for something. Stanley and his friend Zero unlock the truth about Camp Green Lake in a long and adventurous tale.
What did you think of the book?: I thought that Holes was a great book. It teaches trust and responsibility. In reading this book it's almost like you get to know the characters. Louis Sachar is a great author who is very careful in his word choice so that you get a really good idea of how the characters in the book feel.
