Types of Tobacco Use…

Cigarettes have nicotine and you are breathing in bad chemicals and puffing them out when you smoke from a cigarette, cigar, or a smoking pipe. Chewing tobacco is another way to get nicotine into the body.  The most common form of nicotine use is smoking a cigarette. The smoking population increased rapidly in the United States until 1964, when the Surgeon General of the United States officially warned Americans that smoking caused bad heath problems and lung diseases.

Most people continue to smoke because they have a craving  or are addicted to it. In 1988, the Surgeon General announced that nicotine and smoking can be just as dangerous as drugs and cocaine but many people still continue to use tobacco.

Nicotine comes from a tobacco plant. Nicotine is five percent of a tobacco plant. As little as five percent is, it can do much more damage than many people realize it can. Nicotine contains many chemicals that draw you back to it again and again.

Nicotine is a natural occurring liquid alkaloid. It stimulates the human body. Only about one milligram of nicotine is absorbed in your body when you smoke a normal sized cigarette. Nicotine is the main reason people take more and more of tobacco or smoke cigarettes. They do not realize that nicotine changes the way your brain and body work. It can also give you lung, mouth, or skin diseases!

Nicotine is addictive in very small doses.
