Once the Badlands were an ocean. It drained away. The ocean eroded the land. The rivers floodd the Badlands and they left many layers of dirt and the dirt got hard and it made the Badlands. There are lots of canyons and big rocks in the badlands. They are different colors because of the layers that were built during flooding and erosion.
