Fossil Animals
You could find lots of fossils in the Badlands. One of them are the Titanothere. It's name means giant beast. It lived 33 million years ago. Another fossil is the Merycoidodan. It's name means mountain tooth. It had big grinding teeth. The Poebrotherium is like a small camel. They were two feet tall at the shoulder. The leptomeryx is like a tiny deer. He was no longer than a jackrabbit. The Protoceras is a strange looking creature. They were deerlike with bony bumps on their head. Mammoth fossils have been found in the Badlands. Scientists think that they were killed by hunters with spears 10,600 years ago.
