The present Korean Americans are looking into the future with as many interests and uncertainty, but with many hopes, just as in 1903 when the first wave of Korean immigrants arrived in Hawaii. Many families are preparing for the next generation of Korean Americans to arrive. Many people and families are also looking back in the past to plan ahead for the future.

They know that not all of their problems are over, there are still many more challenges to overcome in the near future. Koreans have the courage and the strength to overcome to create a better future for themselves.
Koreans will continue to keep their sense of human dignity and ethnic pride. They are generally a cheerful, gentle and affectionate group of people. They are also musically and artistically talented. They have a tremendous zest for life. In general, they are hardworking and persevere in their actions. They have a tremendous value on social responsibility and achievement. They will continue to be one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in Hawaii.
