                          The Story of the Titan

Have you ever heard of the Titan, a ship in a book? That name sounds exactly like the Titanic, a real ship. Morgan Robertson wrote the book. She may have foretold the sinking of this mighty ship in a book. In the book, the Titan sinks when it hits an iceberg, too. A lot of people died because pf the lifeboat shortage. It was written 14 years before the Titanic sank. This was some amount of years before the Titanic. It is a bit frightening to think that this disastrous event that shocked the world and took many lives of loved ones 89 years ago may have been foretold in the book about the Titan. The Titan was a luxurious ocean liner just like the Titanic. Lots of people were on the Titan, too. I find this thought very scary. What do you think?

The Captain

Edward J. Smith was the Captain of the White Star Line ship, Titanic, and before that of the Olympic. On this voyage he wanted to beat the Olympic’s record of speed. For that and many other reasons the Titanic sunk.

Sister Ships

When the Titanic sank that was not the end of luxuriant liners. The Olympic and the Britannia both sailed for a long time. The Olympic, first of the sisters, went on her maiden voyage in 1911. Though it never sank it retired and was scraped for medal later. However, the Britannia, the last sister, sank in World War One, and that was the end of the three.

The Band kept playing

On the night of the Titanic’s sinking, the band was playing all through the night on the deck until the very end. Sadly, all of the band members died along with many others. The bodies of Jock Hume, Wallace Hartley, and Fred Clark were recovered.
