Storms:   n. a disturbance of the atmosphere accompanied by wind and usually by rain, snow, hail, sleet, or thunder and lightning.

A storm usually refers to unpleasant weather such as rain, snow, or hail. Storms are atmospheric cyclones. If there is little or no moisture in the air, a cyclone may travel a great distance before bringing rain, snow, hail, or sleet. Storms vary widely in how long they last and size. The largest storms may affect all of the continents and last for weeks.
