The Holocaust!!

As soon as Hitler took power in Germany he started to set his plans to eliminate the entire population of Jews in Germany!

First he started a nation wide boycott of Jewish goods. Then he and the other political leaders of Germany started to take away basic rights that all humans should have.  One such law the Nuremberg laws that were created in 1935 took away the Jews citizenship.  Jews could then not marry non-Jews.  If this was not enough all ready, on the night of Nov 9,1938 the secrete police (SS) and hundreds of civilians vandiliced and destroyed Jewish owned shops and stores.  They all so brutally slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Jews in the streets.  In that one night over 30,000 Jews were taken prisoners and sent to work camps, also known as concentration camps.  That night would become known as the night of broken glass!  These were only the first of many things to come!

After this all Jews in most cities were sent to live in ghettos.  A ghetto was a small area of land just out side of town were Jews were sent to live since the Germans hated them.  When the Germans invaded Russia they would put Jews in a trunk that was seald tight. The only hole was were the exhust fumes could come through.  The Germans let the Jews die of poison gas as the drove the burial site!  In villages the SS would line up the Jews and kill them with a firing squad.

Hitler knew that he would not be able to destroy all the Jews by the end of the war so the “final solution of the Jewish question” was formed in 1941!  Hitler was about to try to murder all the Jews in Nazi Germany!  All the Jews were rounded up and sent to concentration camps that were specaily build to be able to kill thousands!  When you first arrived the SS would sort out all healthy and strong men for work.  There was some smell that no one could tell what it was until someone told you.  The truth was the women, children and old people were told to undress and get ready fro a nice shower.  When they got in the shower room the Germans would lock the doors.  There was something different about these showers. There were no water drains!!  They would then pretend to turn on the water.  They were really turning on the poison gas!! With in 20 to 30 minutes new arrivals were up the furnace!! The gas chambers could hold up to 2,000 people at on time!  The smell was of dead bodies.  After they were gassed they would taken good teeth and things like that off the dead.  Then they would burn the bodies in large ovens.  German companies competed for the right to make the furnaces!

The other strong men were worked hard with not much food of rest. The Germans had figured out how much food a person needed to survive for a year and a half.  Some others were used for experiments such as brain transplants.  They would try to see if they could change the eye color of babies.  Others were used in altitude test were they would keep going up until the dead to see how high up pilots could go safely.

The worst thing was that the allies could not or would not believe it was happening!!!!

There were six main camps were this happened Aushwitz, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek, Sobibor, and Treblinka.

It is estimated that around 6 million Jews were killed.  All of them brutialy killed by one insane man Adolf Hitler.  This was the most horrific thing that anyone in the history of the world has ever done!! We can only hope that history will never repeat it self in this way again!
