1.    Jessie goes with Ma on her nightime doctor mission and finds out she has to do something dangerous. she wants to ask questions but Ma won't let her.

2.    Jessie gets ready for school and tries to figure out if Pa knows about the plan. He doesn't, she decides and starts eating breakfast.

3.     After school Jessie finds Katie sick and takes her home. Then she goes in the woods waiting for Ma. Ma tells her then that it is 1996 outside the village.

4.    Ma tells Jessie that she has been watched her whole life. She also tells her about rules they have to follow.

5.    Jessie finds out from Ma about diptheria and that she has to go into the real world. Jessie wears old blue jeans and a t-shirt. She goes because she doesn't want anyone to die.

6.    Jessie sneaks out almost getting caught. she gets into the restroom, but barely. She looks at the the toilet and thinks it is weird, but gets on it and sleeps.

7.    Jessie wakes up and finds that she fits in. She goes in the main, giant room and has to go on a tour with other kids.

8.    Jessie goes on a tour and sees video images. she almost tells her secret but doesn't. She's proud of herself.

9.    Jessie finishes her tour and gets to look at her classmates. HTey make fun of them but Jessie ignore the comments.

10.    Jessie escapes and gets almost out of the whole village. Then she sees  fence and cameras. She now doesn't know how to get out.

11.    Jessie finds a way to escape. A bread truck! She gets in it and gets away. She is scared by the speed but happy she got away.

12.    Jessie gets out of the bread truck and gets away. She starts walking. Soon she comes to a sign and  it says 37 north. She's happy she's going the right way.

13.    Jesie finds Crooked Creek and finds m;oney and food. She eats it and is satisfied.

14.    Jessie finds a gas station and buys a drink. Then she fumbles around with the phone and ends up finding Mr. Neeley not home.

15.    A man bumps int oJesie and scares her. she starts runnig until she is out of breath. Then she walks and comes to a neihgborhood.

16.    Jessie is walking and some guys try to get  her into their car. She runs away and goes into a KFC. She finally finds another phone and gets Mr. Neeley.

17.    Jessie talks to Mr. Neeley on the phone and gets something to eat. Mr. Neeley comes and gets her and explans a bunch for her. They get to Indianapolis and Jessie is amazed. He takes her home and gets her something to drink before she goes to bed.  she can't sleep and she goes to listen to Mr. Neeley, but she wished she hadn't.
