Appearance Who doesn’t know what a cheetah is? Well, a cheetah is about 57-143 lbs. It’s height is about 28-36 inches. The cheetah is tawny colored with small black spots. A cheetah has a long small head. It is part of the feline family. Cheetahs also have tails. AdaptationCheetahs have to have a light skeleton to be able to run 70 m.p.h. and catch it’s prey. They don’t retract their claws to get better traction for more speed. A cheetah will use it’s tail for balance. BehaviorDid you know that cheetah mothers chirp to their babies? Males that are in groups act like brothers and defend each other. Females live a solitary life until they mate. Diet Cheetahs are carnivores (meat-eaters). They like to eat gazelles. Impala is a treat. If the cheetahs can attack a wildebeest it will be from behind so they don’t get hurt by the horns then they will eat it.
