Mermaids
Appearance
In all the tales of mermaids that I have heard and read, mermaids always have
fish tales in the place of legs. While they have peculiar lower bodies,
the upper part of their body is that of a human. They usually have
different colored hair from humans, such as peach, pink, green, aqua, silver,
etc. They have gills as well as lungs so they can breathe under and above
the water.
Behavior
Mermaids were known for luring sailors down from ships which were passing by
their domain or caught in storms. Of course, by the time the mermaids led
the sailors down to their kingdom, the sailors had drowned. Since mermaids
are known to be territoria
l,
they select a sea king to rule over their domain.
Myths
While some people are afraid of mermaids, there are others who admire them. Though it is unlikely, a few think that mermaids are humans who were deformed at birth.
