Dragons
Structure
There are many different ideas of how dragons look. Sometimes people say
they're larger than elephants or school buses. Some people say they are
the size of horses. No matter
how
they are described, they always seem to be larger than your average human.
Another thing about dragons is their coloring. A lot of people I
know think that dragons are green
and slimy, while in fact, they
are very dry and are different colors. Who knows... you might even see a purple
with green socks dragon or an all white albino dragon! Even though the
descriptions of dragons are very different, there are usually some
characteristics that are the same. For instance, dragons usually have bat
like wings, huge clawed feet, scales, and long tails. Many seem patterned
after reptiles.
Actions and Behaviors
One of the most common actions of dragons is the way they go after game.
To
them it doesn't really matter what
kind of food it is, as long as it is fresh and healthy. Farmers
used to think of dragons as nuisances. People also regard dragons as
cold-blooded killers. Though they may be cold-blooded, it would only be
because of their reptile-like nature, not their actions. I think that if
people did not attack the dragons, then the dragons would not hurt the people
around them.
Myths
There are certain myths that tell of dragons stalking and killing humans and their livestock for food or sport. There are also myths that support the idea that dragons are not cruel and probably wouldn't have attacked a human unless they were provoked. Since many people have a history of fearing things that are different, they might have seen some dragons attacking people and spread the rumor that dragons were evil without knowing the full details. There are other myths in which dragons not only breathe fire but frost and poisonous gases as well.
Interesting Facts
At some of the web sites that I visited for information, it said that dragons think that we smell weird and taste terrible!
