Appearance

The quail has a shade of brown or gray color of feathers. It grows from 10 to 12 inches tall and weighs about 8 ounces.


Range

The quail may be found in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico.


Habitat

The quail likes to hang around deserts, thickets, and water.
