
Appearance
The orangutan is 4 and a half feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. It has cheek pads and throat pouches. Its arms are extremely long compared to its legs and body. The orangutan has long curved fingers and toes with an orangish fur. The male is twice the size of the female.
The orangutan is found throughout Southeast Asia.
Habitat
The orangutan prefers dense, tropical places.
Food/Diet
This animal mainly eats figs and other fruit. They also eat leaves, bark, and occasionally insects.
Breeding
If two males meet a female they will fight for her.
Status
There are only 20,000 orangutans left in the world.
