IMPERIAL PARROT

Appearance
The imperial parrot has green feathers with black edging. It also has red eyes, with a purple breast and a black line in the middle. It has a really sharp beak that is a yellowish green. This bird can grow up to 45 centimeters long.
Range
The imperial parrot only in the area of Dominica Leeward Islands.
Habitat
Imperial parrots live 2,100 feet above sea level in the Montahe forest.
Food/Diet
Breeding
The breeding season is most likely March to July; nests in massively tall trees from 22-26 meters above ground. Sometimes it even nests in the hollow trees that it can find just like owls. The females lay a clutch of 1-2 eggs, which are 45.5 x 38.6 millimeters.
Status
The imperial parrot has always been a scarce bird, but now their numbers are down to 80-120 left. These beautiful birds are dying out because of hunting and sport. Also there is too many hurricanes that kills them out and very illegal trade going on with them.
