Hawiian Goose
 
 
 


Appearance

Another name for this bird is Nene. Nene's measure up to 26 inches long. Their colors are brown with long buff colored neck feathers. Usually they will have a yellow beak.


Range

These geese only live in Hawaii, and that is why it is called the Hawaiian goose too.


Habitat

Hawaiian geese live in the open country never ending grasslands.


Food/Diet

The geese's diet consists of only one thing and that thing is grass.


Breeding

Females lay 3-6 creamy white eggs.


Status

Only 50 nenes have been able to survive, but now they are making a comeback with all the government protection since it is the state bird.
