The ostrich is the largest living bird. It stands from 7 to 8 feet tall and weighs about 250 to 350 pounds. They are flightless and actually don't bury their heads in the sand. They can live up to 50-70 years old.

The annual egg production is 30 to 50 eggs. The newborns are about 10 inches tall and weigh about 2 pounds.
