Everyone seems to like to explore the world around them. We live in Maine and like to explore the woods and lakes around our town. Other people (like scientists, astronauts, and inventors) are exploring space, Antarctica, science, or the ocean. In times gone by, people were exploring the world around them, too. This site is about a few of the famous explorers that we've studied. The explorers we are going to tell you about are Hernando De Soto, Henry Hudson, John Cabot, Francis Drake, Pizzaro, Ponce De Leon, Christopher Columbus, and Ferdinand Magellan. These explorers sailed for several different European countries (England, Spain, Portugal, France, and Holland). We will tell you where the explorers sailed, what country they sailed for, the time period, and some cool facts about each one! We hope you learn some interesting facts from our web site.
