Prairie Chickens

     The chickens nest in clumps of dried grass.  The male chickens called, hen removes.  A chicken lays about one egg per day.  It takes the egg about twenty – five days to hatch.  A baby chicken is called a chick.  The mother hen pulls out her wing the chick goes under the wing.  About 50% of prairie chickens predators spoil nests.  Some egg predators are raccoons, skunks, snakes, coyotes, foxes, and particularly opossums. Fifty percent of chicks that remain will die.  The lengths of the prairie chickens are about fourteen inches. Long.  There sexes relate.  The Prairie Chicken is medium-sized, chunky, circular wings.  They are chicken-like bird.
