Wolverines

    This carnivorous animal the wolverine its habits are like the habits of a badger.  It is native to the regions of North America, Europe, and Asia.  The French Canadians call this animal a carcajou; the anglo-canadians call it the quickhatch.  In Europe it is called the glutton the wolverine’s body is heavy set; the legs are short and fat.  The claws are long and curved; it carries its tail and head low.  The back of the wolverine’ s back makes  a high arch.  Its snout is short and pointed.  The head is blunt and rounded.  The eyes are wide apart; the ears are only a short distance above the head fur.  The tail is short and really bushy the individual hairs are up to 20 cm in length. The body hair is thick with glossy hairs.  The wolverine is dark brown except for a light brown strip running the entire length of each side.  The length of the body including the tail is 65 to 105 cm.  the wolverine is found in forests and open plains, ranging north to the artic circle and south to the northern border of the united states.  It also occurs in the sierra Nevada  mountains of California.   It is nocturnal and does not hibernate.
