Streams

The stream ecosystem tank is almost clear and not as dark as the pond ecosystem.  The stream tank is usually a little lower than the pond tank. In this picture you can tell that water was recently added.  Some of the discoveries you will spot in this tank are limpets, guppies, darters, small fish, ramhorn snails, leeches, little catfish, plankton and algae.

A stream is a body of water that flows in a bed or channel.  A brook is an  example of a stream.  Streams are shallow and can be fast moving.  A deeper or wider stream is called a creek.
