bacteria- a organism or parasite.

biologist - a person who studies the plant and animal life of a specific region or place.Gk. bios,  life + Gk.logos, reckoning

climate- the temperature, precipitation, and wind that is characteristic of a particular region

conservation- the act or process of conserving.

crowns- the upper part of a tree, including the leaves and living branches.

dominant- designating or pertaining to the species that is most characteristic of a habitat and that may determine the presence and type of other species.

dominant trees- the most common trees in the canopy.

drought- a long period with no rain.

economic- forest supplies or products.

erosion- the washing away of soil.
