The Kentucky Derby

        The “Run for Roses” happens the first Saturday in May. The “Run for Roses” can also be called the Kentucky Derby. It is the biggest race in Kentucky.  M. Lewis Clark built Churchill Downs in 1874. Churchill Downs got its name from the fact that it was built on a farm owned by a family named Churchill. The Kentucky Derby is held at Churchill Downs each year. The Kentucky Derby is a 1 ¼ a mile long and you should like  watching it.
