Why Were the Higgins Boats so Useful?

What if someone told you that a simple little boat planned and built in New Orleans helped win World War II. Well, one did. The Higgins Boat was very special. The reason this  boat was so special was because it  had a ramp on the boat that would drop down when it hit the landThen all of the soldiers would run out and attack. The boat made it easier to get off and didn't waste so much time. I also had high walls to keep the water out. To find out the History of the boat, go here. It was so useful that some soldiers said that the Higgins Boat was one of the reasons they won the war.The president and general said that the creator of the boat, Andrew Jackson Higgins, was a genius.
