Hendricks Party: Democrat Term:March 4, 1885- March 4, 1889 Nickname: Uncle Jumbo Grover Cleveland was our 22nd president and our 24th president. He was sheriff in 1870 in Buffalo, NY. In 1881 he was mayor of Buffalo too. During Grover Cleveland's presidency he tried to keep the government honest in everything they did. Because of this he was known to many as an honest man.

Morton Party: Republican Term: March 4, 1889- March 4, 1893 Nickname: Little Ben Benjamin Harrison was our 23rd president. His grandfather was president before him. Benjamin Harrison served in the Civil War. During his presidency he helped to pass a law that outlawed monopolies. This law was called the Sherman Antitrust Act. He was called the "Human Iceburg" by some people because he was very formal.

He served in the Civil War and he was a U.S. Representative. After the war he studied law. McKinley was considered to be good with people. Someone once said that one who entered his office with a temper or angry look, would usually leave with a much different look on his/her face. He was assassinated in 1901. |

He was a Spanish-American War hero and he was President when the Panama Canal was being built. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating a peace treaty between Russia and Japan.

Taft supported the creation of the federal income tax. He was a Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court and Secretary of War. President Taft played a major role in passing legislation that helped children and minors. He also improved the banking system in the United States.
