(National Football league) was born in 1920 in Canton, Ohio. In 1960, a new league called the A.F.L. (American Football League) was born. In 1966 the A.F.L. and the N.F.L. merged to become one league the N.F.L. divided in the AFC ( American Football Conference) and the NFC (National Football Conference). In 1967, the first Super Bowl (The winner from the AFC and the NFC), was played. In 1995, the N.F.L. honored its best all-time players by naming them to the 75th anniversery team. Many of the players named to the 75th anniversery team were later, in 1999, named the the All-Millenium team. Football has had a long and colorful history filled with great players, teams, coaches, and fans and will be for years to come.
