Venomous Animals

by Lianna

Rattlesnakes, Gila Monsters, and Mexican Beaded lizards are the only venomous reptiles found in Texas. They are passive and not aggressive. The yellow-spotted lizard described in the book does not exist.

There are five kinds of reptiles: snakes, lizards, turtles, crocodiles and tuatara. Lizards can grow new tails. There are only 2 poisonous lizards out of about three thousand. One is the Gila Monster, and the other is the Mexican Beaded Lizard. These lizards are mostly found in Mexico and Southwestern United States. A bite from either can kill you but rarely happens.
