Mouse (Rodent) A common name for any of the three families
of rodent. Mice are numerous throughout the world. A common house mouse is the
most frequently observed species, and is an ancestor of white lab mice. In it's
wild state it is a little less than 6 1/2 inches long including the tail.
The house mouse is yellowish gray. It is sometimes streaked with black.
