Mole (Mammal) A common name for a small burrowing Mammal. These are characterized by it's pointed snout, bad eyes, soft, thick velvety fur, and strong digging claws. The animals dig below the ground for food. They look for worms and insect larvae. They are capable of digging very fast. 5 out of 12 types of moles are found in the United States.
