Blues
One lonely day in the cotton fields blues music was born . The slaves were working and Felt like adding a little groove to their day at work. So the workers broke out into song and rhythm and well......blues music! People from around the world heard about this and called it "The field holler of the Mississippi delta!" The people today think of blues as the heart of jazz . After almost everyone had heard about the "field holler of the Mississippi delta" intsruments were added and now blues music was polished. ( Ready! Ready! Ready!) So, in came recorders and newspapers and blues was pretty famous! There are many blues artists that play at the Jazz Festival, such as Marcia Ball, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and B.B. King.
