"Chunnel" is the nickname for the Channel Tunnel.
The Chunnel cost $15 billion to build.
The Chunnel consists of three rails: 1 service rail, 1 rail East and 1 rail West.
The Chunnel is 32 miles long. 23 miles of it is 150 ft. under the seabed of the English Channel.
It would take a bullet train 20 minutes to cross the Channel.
If all the tunnels were connected it would be 95 miles long.
1300 technicians, engineers, and workers built the Chunnel.
The volume of rock removed to make the Chunnel would be three times the volume needed to make the Cheops pyramid.
The Chunnel increased the area of Britain by 90 acres. That's 68 football fields.
