Anne Frank


Anne Frank was born in 1929. A few years after Anne was born she and her family moved to the Netherlands because of the anti-Jewish National Socialist Party. Anne was 4 years old when this happened.

In 1942 the deportation to the work camps began. Anne's parents saw the possibility of hiding in Anne's father's work building. Anne wrote in a diary for this two years of hiding. In August 1944, the people in hiding were arrested. Anne Frank died in 1944 in a concentration camp. Anne's house is in the center of Amsterdam. Anne wrote her famous diary while hiding there. Her diary is one of the most widely read books in the world.

Anne and her family had to follow a routine to avoid discovery. When Anne wrote her diary, she wanted to publish it. Anne planned to be a famous writer when she grew up.
