NAPOLEON

 

    Napoleon I was born in Ajaccia, a town in Corsica in 1769.  As a young child, he wanted to be a soldier. At age 15, he went to a military school in Paris. He later married a woman named Josephine de Beauharnais.

    In 1789, the French Revolution began and many great changes started to take place in France. Napoleon, as an army officer, welcomed these changes.From 1792 to 1795, French was at war with almost all of Europe. Napoleon took power of France in 1799. He was defeated in the battle of Waterloo in 1815. Napoleon died at Longwood on St. Helena in 1821.
