Leonardo Da Vinci was born in the town of Vinci in Italy in 1452. His dad was a government official and his mother was a peasant girl.

As a child, Da Vinci liked to see how things worked. In 1469, Da Vinci moved with his father to Florence. That’s where he met sculptor and painter Andrea del Verrocchio. For the next 7 years, Da Vinci spent most of his days in Verrocchio studio.

De Vinci painted many paintings, but probably the most famous of all his work is the Mona Lisa. People still try to figure out why she is smiling.

Although we put De Vinci in the composer list, he also invented the first armored car; he made the plans for the helicopter, airplane, and the submarine. He also made an attempt to discover the circulation of blood. However most of his ideas were not carried out because of the times (he didn’t have the materials to build what he wanted.)
