The Vikings first spotted Nessie over 20,000 years ago. In 1934, when construction was going on and they were using dynamite and other explosives, there were more sightings than usual - probably because either the loud noises were scaring the monster, or because rock fragments were falling in the water. Almost a fourth of the photos other people have taken are Chan (fake) photos. Chan photos are photographs that are made on the computer. Many of the sightings are minor bubbles that come up from the bottom from little cracks in the floor of the lake.
This is a list of reported sightings of the Loch Ness Monster.
1933 – An American naturalist thought that Nessie might be a giant squid. It has since been suggested that it may be a large worm-like creature.
1934 - Two women saw an animal crossing a stream by moonlight, moving toward the Loch, and out of sight.
1960 - A man saw a gray-black figure close to the loch. Using binoculars, he saw a creature that had guessed to be 45 feet in length.
1993- A woman saw a dark gray mass on the beach, 25 feet long. Its back looked-ridged and had several humps on it, suggested that it may be a large, worm-like animal.
1993- A couple from London were driving on the south shore road. They reported seeing Nessie on the road, out of the water!
5/30/98 – a Marlborough woman reported a black object about 10 feet high in the loch, beside Urquhart Castle.
6/17/98 - 4 men saw a large object thought to be Nessie, in the loch early in the morning, close to Inverfargaig.

10/20/98 - A local van driver spotted something in the flat, peaceful waters of the loch near Cherry Island at 11:00.
10/24/98 - A Hertfordshire couple on vacation in the area saw a large object traveling under the waters, at 11:00, about half way up the loch.
11/23/98 - A local woman of Scotland was a passenger in a car while traveling north along the loch side, when she saw a head and neck protruding out of the water at 3:10 p.m.
In July of 1963, at Loch Ness, Scotland, a lake where Mr. MacIntyre and Mr.
Campbell were fishing trout, a huge, long neck and head came out of the water.
The fishermen were very surprised to see a sea serpent like creature in
that lake. The sea serpent, also now known as the Loch Ness monster, or
Nessie, sank under water, and thencame back up farther away until they couldn't
see it anymore.
