Pizza came to America by the Italian immigrants. They came in the 19th century where they opened food stores. Gennaro Lombardi opened the first pizzeria in 1905 in New York City where it wasn't very popular. When World War II was over, people in the army came back from Italy and brought their tastes with them. The pizza craze had begun.
