The History of the Zero

About 1500 years ago, there was no zero. ( Nooooo :-o) How did you write 1001? You had a space, 1 1. Confusing, Huh? Well thank goodness we have a zero today. Well if there was not a zero, how could you write 100? Well you can write roman numerals, C , math sentences, 199+1 , 299-99, 2 x 2 x 5 x 5, you could do a lot of tally marks. But, that would take forever.
